Congolese economist Dr Jo Sekimonyo on Wednesday, June 15, said that the Democratic Republic of the Congo does not need to confront Rwanda militarily and that it would do something to hurt it. "Rwanda can not survive without Congo but DRC can." He said.

He called on the leaders of the Democratic Republic of Congo to protect the lives of Congolese and and to use the economic power it has on Rwanda.

He finds that the Democratic Republic of Congo should not engage in open warfare with Rwanda because it is useless, according to Mediacongo.net post.

"We know that Rwanda has a problem with Uganda," he said. It is closed in Burundi and has a problem with Tanzania. We are key partners in the Rwandan economy. We know we have an 'advantage'. Rwanda cannot survive without Congo, but Congo can survive without Rwanda. ” He continued.

Dr Sekimonyo therefore suggested that action be taken to intimidate Rwanda economically.

"We can, for example, pass a law that prohibits any Congolese citizen or any Congolese-registered entity from doing business with any Rwandan or Rwandan ... even though it is difficult to implement it that would jeopardize the Rwandan economy."

"We do not need a military war in Rwanda, only economic ones that have more consequences," he said.

For him, Rwanda is afraid to go to war with the Democratic Republic of Congo because it will be so defeated that it will lack the means to support its war and its development.

"So once we nail it in the right place, the internal effects in Rwanda will change the mindset or moderate it in the event of a conflict with DRC." he said.
