Moïse Katumbi Postponed his Campaign activities and accused Police to shoot live on his Supporters
Moïse Katumbi, who is running against President Tshisekedi in the presidential election, has decided to temporarily postpone his campaign activities, and announced the important events that are happening in DR Congo.
Katumbi made the decision after the riots that happened on December 12 when he was campaigning in Moanda in Congo-Central.
The campaign was threatened by a group of people sent by the provincial administration who threw stones and the police shot at Katumbi's supporters.
Many were injured and one of Katumbi's bodyguards was taken to the hospital after being seriously injured.
He then canceled the campaign activities that were to be held in Kananga and Tshikapa on Wednesday.
Katumbi stressed that what happened in Moanda shows the weakness of what he called enemies who are afraid of losing power.
He apologized to all the people who were affected by the actions of the ruling party and called them criminals.
He said, “Videos, live shots fired by the police, and testimony confirm that these events were organized to commit a crime. God willed it otherwise.”
Moïse Katumbi promised the people of Kananga that even Tshikapa, if he comes to power, he will improve their standard of living and put an end to the lack of water and electricity.
He said that on December 20, the new Congo is possible instead of being ready to protect their votes from those who do not want to leave power and have failed to put the country on the line.
