FIFA has announced three shortlisted players for the World Player of the Year award
Top strikers including Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi have been nominated for the Best FIFA Men's Player Award 2023.
This award is for the best player in men's soccer from December 19, 2022 to August 20, 2023.
The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at an event in London on January 15, 2024.
12 players have been shortlisted for the FIFA World Player of the Year award, selected by a panel of experts.
In this list, the three winners were selected by international football experts including: national men's national team coaches, national men's national team captains, football journalists, and fans voted on FIFA's official website.
Haaland won the UEFA Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup last season and is the most prolific player in the league.
In the 33 games he played in this period, he scored 28 goals and chased others to score goals in the Premier League.
Mbappe helped PSG win the championship for the eighth time, scoring 17 goals in 20 games.
Messi won the World Cup with Argentina, won the Ligue 1 title, and scored 100 goals for Argentina.
