Are you ready to embark on a transformational journey? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join us as the Quality Assurance Tester.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that RSSB has a seamless designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, leveraging modern tools and methodologies to automate testing processes and ensure efficient software delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and designers, to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

 

Reporting to the Head, Engineering ,the Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, leveraging modern tools and methodologies to automate testing processes and ensure efficient software delivery.

About RSSB

The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) has the mandate to manage and promote social security in Rwanda. RSSB’s vision is to provide a comprehensive social security system that caters to the diverse social security needs of the population, RSSB plays an important role in realizing Vision 2050 and the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1). RSSB manages six social security schemes, namely: Pension, Occupational Hazards, Medical scheme, CBHI, Maternity Leave Benefits and EjoHeza (Long-term Term Saving Scheme).

With assets under management amounting to 2.06 trillion Rwf , which is equivalent to over 15% of the country’s GDP, RSSB invests in key sectors of the economy and plays a crucial role in growing the country’s financial sector. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various types of testing, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and usability testing.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and designers, to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  3. Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using modern tools and technologies, such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or other relevant frameworks.
  4. Perform manual testing activities, including exploratory testing, ad-hoc testing, and user acceptance testing, to identify defects, usability issues, and edge cases.
  5. Analyze and document testing results, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvement.
  6. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and maintainability aspects of the codebase.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry best practices, and drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies within the testing process.
  8. Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline by integrating automated tests and ensuring software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  9. Mentor and provide guidance to junior QA testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must have at least:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance or practical technology hands-on roles.

Key competencies

Technical Competencies:

  1. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
  2. Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) and techniques.
  3. Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, qTest) and defect tracking systems.
  4. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with testing processes.
  5. Experience with mobile application testing (iOS and Android) and cross- browser testing.

Behavioral Competencies:

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  3. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Additional Information:

The position is based in Kigali, Rwanda and applicants must be willing to relocate outside their countries of domicile.
